A 26-year-old man died this morning after the sport-utility vehicle he was driving crashed on the Kennedy Expressway on the North Side, authorities said.
Fidel Valladares, of the 2500 block of North Mason Avenue in the city’s Belmont Central neighborhood, was pronounced dead at 5:20 a.m. at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Valladares was involved in a crash on the Kennedy Expressway at Damen Avenue, according to the medical examiner's office.
Illinois State Police District Chicago Trooper Michael Bobko said the victim was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Tahoe when, while traveling north at a high rate of speed, he veered to the left, hit a concrete median barrier, and the SUV flipped.
The driver was partially ejected from the SUV during the 4:38 a.m. wreck, said Bobko.CLICK FOR MORE
