Batavia police announced today that they have charged four people today in connection with residential burglaries that took place recently on the city's southeast side.
Terrell Jones-Bradley, 21, of the 1200 block of East Wilson Street in Batavia, was charged with burglary, attempted burglary, and unlawful use of a credit card, according to a media release from the Batavia Police Department.
Police also said Gregory Jordan, Jr., 26, of the 1300 block of East Wilson Street in Batavia, and Curtis A. Hobbs, 23, of the 0-100 block of Broadway Street in Aurora, were both charged with unlawful use of a credit card.
The release said Sharonda Y. Moore, 22, of the 1200 block of East Wilson Street in Batavia, was charged with possession of stolen property.
In each of the three break-ins, the thief entered the houses overnight while the occupants were asleep, said Batavia Detective Sgt. Shawn Mazza before the arrest.
He said that it wasn't until morning, when the homeowners woke up, that they noticed their small electronics — smartphones, laptops or iPads — were missing.
"(The residents) have been home, but in none of the cases was someone confronted," Mazza said.
Police said the burglaries occurred between Aug. 5 and 14 in the 900-1200 block of Woodland Hills Road and the 1600 block of Wagner Road.
