MUSKEGON, Mich. - West Michigan woman has been sentenced to 6 months in jail after authorities say she bit off another woman's finger during a fight over 50 cents and cigarettes.
The Muskegon Chronicle reports a judge on Monday also ordered 47-year-old Senta Staffney to participate in community service and counseling. She was sentenced for aggravated assault and resisting and obstructing a police officer.
Staffney earlier pleaded no contest. The plea isn't an admission of guilt but is treated as such for sentencing.
The Muskegon woman was arrested after the June 17 fight with a 46-year-old woman in a front yard. The newspaper says Staffney agreed to sell a cigarette to the woman for 50 cents, the woman gave Staffney a dollar for two cigarettes and Staffney wanted 50 cents more
